Some basic info about vaping:

What is e-liquid?

E-liquid has several spellings and synonyms as eliquid, e-juice or  ejuice. It is liquid mix of usually four ingredients and it's used for electronic cigarettes for producing vapour and simulating smoking.

What ingredients are in e-liquid?

Main ingredients are PG (Propylene Glycol) and VG (Vegetable Glycerin) other minor ingredients are Flavour and optionally Nicotine - you can also buy 0 Nicotine e-liquids.

PG is used in e-liquids mainly as a flavouring carrier ( the same as in food production or cosmetics products) that's why the more PG in e-juice the more pure flavour you can feel and the more throat hit you get. PG is important especially for 'flavour chasers' and it also improves storage time of e-juice, although it's thinner so it doesn't produce as much vapour as VG.

VG is natural organic liquid made from vegetable oil, it's thicker and denser and therefore produce more vapour so it's very important ingredient for 'cloud chasers'. VG based e-liquid also produce slightly sweet aftertaste.

Flavour concentrate is very important ingredient of e-liquid, it provide desirable taste and is major factor especially for 'flavour chasers'. Most e-liquids have between 5% - 20% of flavour (some tobacco flavours have only 1% - 3% as those flavours are stronger).

Nicotine is not recommended for non-smokers and new vapers as it is highly addictive substance. The nicotine level in e-liquids is measured by the number of milligrams of nicotine per 1 millilitre of liquid. So 6mg means there is 6mg of nicotine in 1 millilitre of liquid. For smokers that want to switch to vaping is good that you can choose how much nicotine you want in your e-liquid based on how many cigarettes you were smoking. Generally people start from 12mg and downgrade step by step to 2mg or even 0mg in time.

What is the difference between PG/VG ratios?

Typical PG/VG ratio for e-liquid is:

- 50/50 (50% of PG and 50% of VG) - great for better flavour taste and

- 30/70 (30% of PG and 70% of VG) - great for producing more vapour

Higher power of e-cigarette is needed to produce vapour with VG based e-liquid but the same power can produce burnt taste with PG based e-juices which are more suitable for lower power voltages.
